Brand Registered Seller Cant add my existing UK ASIN in US

Dear All

We are brand registered sellers and we been selling in the UK since last few years now. In mid 2024, we decided to take our UK products to the US marketplace and we were successful to take 1 of our products from UK to the US. that product is now selling in both marketplaces and they are linked via BIL.

The problem happens when we wanted to list the 2nd ASIN. We tried it via BIL but the system was unable to translate it automatically and told us to create the listing in the US manually. We created a new listing in the US with the same ASIN and SKU from the UK but the system resulted in an error stating:

"The SKU ABCD was submitted with an incorrect ASIN provided as the "external product ID". Please resubmit your product with correct ASIN or resubmit your product with a product identifier other than the ASIN (e.g., UPC, ISBN, etc.)."

But the ASIN is completely correct. Please also note that we don't have any other external product ID linked with any of our products as we have taken GTIN exemption to list these products as the brand owners.

When we saw the error in "Complete your drafts" we tried to enter the same ASIN again and the moment we enter the ASIN again, the system detect a possible match with a listing which is our ASIN but the listing is discontinued a few years ago in the US (Told to us by Seller support) but we never tried to list it in the US ever before.

We suspect that someone else tried to list our UK product in the US and then discontinue the process mid way and now Amazon system is not allowing us to list the same ASIN.

We feel like we been punished for someone else's mistake or ever Amazon's mistake for allowing someone else to list our branded product :(

Is there someone here from Amazon who can look into the matter in detail and help us out as Seller support is telling us to list the product with a new ASIN which is not at all acceptable to us as we will loose all our sales history and reviews earned in the UK.

I can't give you any advice. Just for future listings consider buying a UPC from GS1. That UPC identifies that specific ASIN as having been created by you and makes it a lot more difficult for hijackers to hack your listing and your brand. Without UPC your ASIN will always be a target for take over.
