Unless I am doing something basically wrong why is it when i switch from UK to Canada or USA or vice versa I have to sign in again and get a new OTP. What a pain if I want to switch back and forth.

You could run the UK marketplace in one browser (eg Firefox) and the US/Canada site from another (eg Chrome) at the same time. That should prevent constant OTP requests.

I think they class as separate sites, hence why you are getting an OTP request.
You can swithc across the various European sites - but anything outside of Europe would probably need a new login.
