Amazon has been a nightmare since 2021
This is not an exaggeration.
Amazon destroyed over $11,000 worth of inventory back in 2020, all of those items were FBA items. They shutdown my old account due to problems with FBM orders (honestly this was 60% due to covid and 40% our fault for not updating shipping time windows and on-hand inventory). They wouldn't re-activate the account despite stellar reviews prior to the event and countless appeals, actions plans, etc. and despite the fact all customers were reimbursed and offered freebies for their inconvenience.
After a couple of years, I opened a new account with Amazon, mainly to sell all the products I still had prior to the abrupt account deactivation. This was over $60,000 in products, that took over a year to sell off, due to buy-box issues and non-optimized inventory. I made a huge mistake and re-ordered products to ship once again to Amazon.
I swear to god my biggest regret is attempting to do business on this platform again. Honestly I want to give it all up. I want to give up the business and life.
They recently shutdown my account again, this time for no reason or no discernable one. It seemed 3 or 4 items were somehow set to be sold in the US - this was an error on our part, but an extremely minor one that shouldn't have been allowed to transpire in the first place. We had over 200 units listed on Amazon and despite this mistake, luckily none of them sold. They randomly gave me my account back after a month or 2, but somehow lost over $10,000 worth of inventory I had at their warehouse. It's been over 2 months now and they are all still missing, with a pending investigation by Amazon still.
This finally prompted me to look at all my shipments over the years (shipments that I have never once made a claim on). I saw literally, 1000's of missing units, over 100 from my last shipment alone. I neglected to dispute anything because I trusted Amazon, because I made money still and because I guess I'm easy to take advantage of. It breaks my heart to see how much inventory was stolen or lost by them. I ship mainly case quantities so the overwhelming amount of discrepancies make no sense. Worse yet, I shipped every single of these shipments myself; I have near OCD levels of attention to detail, so how is it that every single shipment has missing or extra units. It's insane that I let all this slide. Don't get me started on returns, that too is an area I blindly trusted Amazon and my customers. I'm sorry for doing business honestly, I'm sorry for trusting my customers and I'm especially sorry for trusting Amazon.
I have spent over 2 months trying to sort out a discrepany from my recent shipment. I failed to respond within 5 business days and it has been truly hell trying to get them to reopen the case. They finally did reopen the case and gave me 4 business days to respond on April 5th, 2024 at 11:53 PM - The case was closed today April 9th at 11:04 AM. Now I expect I'll have to spend another week or two to get them to reopen this case; I'm at a loss for reason. Why is it that they can take weeks to respond but we have unmissable deadlines? Why can't we now go back through years of shipments to prove to me they haven't lost or stolen any? Why do I have to go back through years of invoices to prove that I bought enough inventory to satisfy my last 3 years of shipments to Amazon just to solve a discrepancy that has video evidence in 2023?
I truly tried to provide customers with the best prices in Canada. I honestly did it successfully from April 2019 to February 2020 when troubles started to occur with my service. I have not been able to recover since, both financially and mentally. Yes I'll be seeking mental health help soon and will not be acting on these thoughts; I will not let Amazon win. Is there a way to sue Amazon without financially ruining myself?
