book listing deactivated potential high price - again! what can we do?
I just acquired a nice first edition of Lord Lovat's March Past, autobiography. After reading his demolition of Evelyn Waugh, I listed it on Amazon, having checked other listings and ABE. £85 seemed reasonable, and was the lowest on offer.
Less than a week and I get the notification of potential high error. But then lowest reference price from Amazon is £119.99, so not even a stupidly low comparator with no evidence this time. not sure i can be bothered to go through the bot process. Their algorithms are a joke.

I have this so often. The only way round it is to list as 'Collectible' (if it fits the criteria), as it will then not be deactivated, but the reality is that many customers do not even use the collectible filter and so will miss your book. I usually sell them elsewhere on the other main site !!

As Jilly says - nothing much you can do. It's just the *** programmers at Amazon applying the same criteria to used books as to a new widget, which any intelligent person would realise is ludicrous. List it on AbeBooks - I know they are owned by Amazon but the dead hand hasn't reached them - yet.

This is happening more and more lately. Drives me mad. Why not just let the customer decide if they want to pay a price or not. Attempting to drive prices down in this way is wrong imho.

Almost 6000 of my products (Books, CDs and DVDs) have been closed down due to potential pricing errors.
It drives me insane.
Expecially when I sell a product where I have another copy in stock, and then when I relist it at the same price 5 minutes after the sale came through - it is immediately closed as a pricing error.
