Royal Mail Tracked Delivery What's the point?

Is there any point using Royal Mail Tracked anymore with end to end tracking and a delivery photograph confirmation when even if the item is confirmed as delivered a buyer can just obtain a refund by simply opening an A to Z Claim.

Two orders in the last 2 days have been refunded after A to Z claims have been opened by buyers 'claiming' not to have received their orders where online tracking clearly confirms delivery.

Amazon's response -

The customer reported an issue with delivery. In this case, the tracking information indicates 'delivered', but the customer did not receive the package. Because you provided sufficient information that proves the order was actually received by the customer, we will not count the claim against your Order Defect Rate.

So we have provided sufficient information that proves the item has been received but the customer keeps the goods and also gets a refund, bonus though our ODR is NO!

Yes the whole system is broken and needs a complete overhaul. It is not fit for purpose.

Fight back! Tell them it was a tracked item, show them the picture - if it is useful, they aren't always. Tell them that there will be an inquiry & it may affect delivery to the address in future. If that fails, send the picture to Royal Mail & demand they reimburse you. We do this, we say " this picture is useless & because of this we lost our claim. There is supposed to be a "drive" to re-educate posties.

Believe me, if you didn't have tracking in place...the number of buyers chancing it saying their order hadn't arrived would be much higher...so in answer to your question, yes there is a point, to keep things from being worse than they already are!

i love the fact the amazon actually say the information proves it was delivered, but were still going to refund them anyway. absolutely disgraceful and quite frankly, embarrassing a company can send such email confirmations out and yet still refund. this company really isn't fit for purpose.
