Product title change
I’ve had a listing up for a month but I’d like to change the title because I created it 6 months back and I’d like to optimise the title, the new title isn’t too different from the old one but I think it’s a lot clearer for customers. I’ve contacted support many times and they’ve now asked me to delete my listing and re-list which I’m unsure about. They say I should not lose reviews/sales history but I’m not 100% sure this is the case.
“When you find that the locked product data on an ASIN is incorrect for any of these SKUs, the impacted SKUs for the ASIN must be deleted for 24 hours, which will enable our system to allow changes to these locked attributes. Once the 24-hour period is over or when an associate has stated that it is safe to proceed, please relist your product with the updated product data. Note that this will not affect your Product Reviews or Sales History on the ASIN.”

The solution I found was to do a “PartialUpdate” using the upload template inventory option. Title is now updated.

I don’t know whether their advice is the correct solution to your issue, but when you delete something from your inventory you are only deleting it from there, not from the whole of Amazon. The ASIN will still be there when you add it back to your inventory. If it is FBA and you have stock with Amazon, then be sure to add it back with the same SKU.

Yes I am, this is one of the reasons seller support said they were not able to change it on their end - they are not able to override brand registered sellers contribution to the listing.
