A-Z Claim is ridiculous

Absolutely ridiculous that a claim has being upheld against us even though there is proof of a photo from Royal Mail that the parcel was delivered within the estimated delivery time. What is the point if Amazon are going to refund customers even though they designated a safe place for their deliveries!! By the looks of it as. a new seller we don't have much going for us.

Unfortunately, the A-Z team seem to demand you have a signature.

We have complained about this for years (couriers in the main don't take them, photos and GPS should be proof, amazon don't take signatures on most of their orders!)

You can appeal of course - but as it stands, we as sellers simply have no real means of complaining about this outside of amazon.

The only solution to your problem, is to sell more stock fulfilled by yourself on other platforms. I had a parcel issue only this week and Ebay sorted me out in minutes, no faff with cases or proof of ownership, there was tracking, they sorted it with no hassle.

This is Amazon's way in so many different ways ! They make life for their sellers as difficult as possible, all in the name of 'policy'. They will never admit their poliices are absurd - and they are too big and arrogant to care.

Same happened to me the other day, customer claimed they didn’t receive item even though I had GPS tracking and photo of item in safe place, I told the customer to check his safe place in his back garden, his response was “this is Fulham, things are always stolen”. If that’s the case why assign a safe place you know is risky? Did the thief go into your back garden and route through your bin? Really?

I contacted Amazon pre-claim and was told to open a SAFE-T claim but this was not possible as the policy didn’t cover the issue, I was told to open a claim on 3 separate occasions but then I should have known Seller Support wouldn’t know their own policies.

What’s frustrating is that Amazon couldn’t care less about us sellers, the customer purchased 6 items in the order, they got their money back and then ordered 3 more, I don’t feel safe sending the new order as I know if it happens again Amazon will just give the money back. They might be a multibillion Pound company but I’m not, I can’t afford to lose money on the whim of Amazon. For me the majority of claims are just Amazon assisted customer fraud, we have zero protection or support, we’re given constant incorrect advice by inadequate glorified secretaries who don’t even represent our issues to the department they pass the issue to and those departments are more often than not totally incompetent.

if a buyer designates a 'safe place' they take full responsibility for its security. you can use the small claims court. if the courier left it there without it being designated by the buyer, then the courier is liable.

Other platforms deal with this problem better and without issue so sell more stock with other platforms would be the obvious choice to mitigate the problem.
