Brand Name in Title now Automatic?
Does anyone know why Amazon have started automatically adding the brand name to the start of a product title?
It doesn’t show up in the ‘add product’ page but as soon as the item is live it’s there right at the start of the title.
It’s not needed because the brand is displayed right underneath the title anyway, and just makes things look messy

Amazon notified us on 16th Oct 2017 that they would be cleaning up product titles in the Fashion category (which includes clothing, luggage, shoes, watches and jewellery) as of Jan 2018, to conform with their ASIN Title Requirements. Maybe they have extended this to other categories now?

I believe it is a software error, they are trying to fix ours. Open a case with seller support.

I posted about this a couple of days ago:
I complained to seller support who confirmed there is a policy change, but they forced the product titles back to how I wanted them so it didn’t affect anything. I’ve yet to make a new product title but I’m sure when I do it’ll do the same again.

Hello,
I have the same problem since 23/3/2018.
in category (Home & Garden > Home & Garden > Home & Kitchen > Home Accessories )
Every newly listed item has the brand added before the title, but in edit view its not in the title text box to remove.
It looks bad and confusing, please remove.
Is this a bug? or real life?!?
Thanks
Tom

Did you get an answer to this? I added around 15 new items yesterday in the Home & Kitchen > Decorative Accessories category and have had the brand name automatically dumped into the beginning of the title.
It looks messy and screws up valuable search terms!

Does anyone know; Is this now Amazon policy?

Sorry to bump this but…
I listed 3 items this morning, all lamps, different shapes. All with the same brand name (not brand registered yet), all in the same categories etc, basically identical listings but different images/description correlating to their shape. Only 1 of the 3 has had the Brand Name attached to the beginning of the title, which makes absolutely zero sense!
Going to try and get on to Amazon now, the brand name is quite long, as the title is already so it looks a mess.

Just got some GS1 codes and for our first upload this has happened. Finally can list again and have a problem already.
Any suggestions that aren’t already in the thread?

Well Luckily I’ve always put my brand at the start of the title, I think it could be for sponsored ads or related products or possibly newsletters

Don’t see how this can be an Amazon guideline as my last 4 listings were on 22/01/2018 and none of them have my added brand name. Also why do two previous listings have it and many others listed within seconds don’t? Seem like a glitch of some kind. IMHO. Do any other sellers have new listings that don’t feature the added brand at the front?
