New to AMAZON (FBM - Postage and Shipping)
Hello guys, I am new to amazon and have couple of small queries.
-
If I have an FBM category product, once I receive an order. How do I work on the shipping and packaging? Since in FBA, amazon takes care of everything for the seller for a fee, but for FBM how do I manage the packaging and shipping. Do I have to follow a specific logistic planning amazon does? Are there certain bags/labels/packaging style?
-
As I have certain products listed in my inventory, I would like to know how do should calculate the postage? Since I don’t have uniformed products, how do I plan the postage? As I have understood it would be on weight / size…
Would be great, if you guys can share some useful knowledge and insights on this.
Thanks

You don’t have to use a particular type of packaging, whatever is appropriate to protect whatever is inside.
Regarding what you charge, if you are on the professional plan then you can set your own rates (on the individual plan Amazon set them for you.)
You can use any carrier you like, you will need to measure and weigh all your items and then work out the pricing for whichever carrier you plan to use.
You set up shipping templates in your seller account and then choose whichever is appropriate for each item.

I think it’s highly recommended to use a tracked service, in case of A-Z claims.

If you’re on an individual selling plan and don’t pay a £30 subscription Amazon have a set postage credit for each category. For BMVD it’s £2.80 - If the book is heavy or is large in dimensions it probably won’t cover the cost of shipping. DVDs etc has a postal credit of £1.26 whether it be for a single DVD or a huge box set.
Remember, what you receive from Amazon towards the postage is a credit and you should think of it as just that. A CREDIT.
