Royal Mail Surcharges - Incorrect scan date

Hi Royal Mail have recently charged a surcharge for items scanned but undeclared in their system

You would think that was straight forward a missing manifest or similar.

However they are claiming the items were scanned on the 19th despite the fact that the postage was bought from Amazon on the 25th.

I have contacted them to dispute but they just refer back to the fact they claim they were scanned on the 19th (at Nottingham), there is obviously a glitch in their system. Is this a one off that is affecting me or are their others out there with the same issue?

If so how are you getting on with resolving it. For me it is a matter of principle rather than just the value which is £160
