Amazon Enabling Automatic Handling

Received an email recently stating my account will be enrolled in automatic handling time. I don't want this feature as I use the cushion at times when I will be away for a day due to reasons outside of work (I'm the only one that processes orders). Is there anyway to disable this from starting as based on the email I have no choice and don't see any link to get out of it.

We got one of these. It says you can change it in Handling Time Settings, wherever that is. I'm not too worried about it - they already have me at 1 day. Unless of course I will now be expected to ship the same day.

You can find it when you hit "Edit Listing" (now on the far right of the listing. You will find the "Handling Time" box, which you will need to enter the number 2, as in 2 days Handling Time. You need to do this for every active ASIN you offer, one by one.

This is also a good time to consider if you want to limit the number of items purchased on the same order, which effectively divides the single order postage into the amount they ordered, lowering your profit.

It took me about a week of work to get through my listings.

This is a common practice for most Small Business Owners, as you cannot make a Medical appointment (or similar) for the Weekend.

You need to know that Amazon certainly seems to be "Dinging" Sellers on the OTDR Metric for EARLY Deliveries as well as Late, so even IF you process ANY orders before the "Ship-By" window, you should HOLD the packages for Delivery to the Carrier until you are within the "Ship-By" window. For example, Orders that come in on Thursday have a "Ship-By" of Monday, so IF you process the orders early, do NOT hand the packages to the Carrier UNTIL Monday, just to avoid problems with the OTDR metric.

What I want to know is, as we are going into the Holiday Buying Season, and the Hurricanes become a problem in the Southeast, and Snow becomes a problem in the Northeast and Mountain areas, and Deliveries are delayed as always happens, what could an Amazon Seller possibly do to insure "On Time Delivery"?

Since the answer is obviously "Nothing", you must ask WHY would Amazon threaten it's 3rd Party Sellers entire Business Selling Account for situations that are completely out of their control?

If a Seller purchases Postage using Amazon Buy Shipping, and ships within the 2-Day "Ship-By" window using a Carrier provided BY Amazon, there should be NO jeopardy to the Seller IF Delivery is delayed. The Seller has LITERALLY done everything possible on their end.

I can't believe no one at Amazon has considered how this new Metric we must maintain is going to wreak HAVOK on the 3rd Party Sellers this 4th QTR, and through NO FAULT of their own!

Good Luck to us ALL!

Each listing?! That's ridiculous. What if someone has thousands of SKUs? This is absolutely garbage policy on Amazon's side.

Hey, don't Shoot the Messenger here, I didn't make the Policy, I am just trying to help you. You claimed you did not want 1-Day Handling time, and I told you how to fix it.

And for the record, I have almost 3,900 listings, so it took me a week+ of steady work to restore the 2-Day Handling time, but NOW it works the way it used to work.

And there is no more default 2 day handling. It's now 1 day handling or the option of same day.

Exactly! Which is why you need to manually edit each active listing and enter the number "2" under Handling Time IF you want to restore your 2-Day Handling time.

If you do not wish to do this, and are Happy with the 1-Day Handling time, then why did you post in the first place?

Take your anger and send it towards Amazon where it belongs.

You must turn off automatic handling time as it will now default you to same day shipping, editing each listing with handling time days will not fix this, you must click the settings wheel in top right corner, then click shipping settings, then general shipping settings, Scroll down to handling time box, click edit button, then toggle automatic handling time to not active.
