Open Return Request (Redundant or Useful)

Open Return Request (Redundant or Useful)

What is the point of an [open return request] asking for my actions when I am not able to do anything?

Amazon Auto-Authorizes the return regardless of what I want, pays the customer on first scan, and it leaves a button for me to press, and accidentally incur a double refund

Open returns requests are garbage since the amazon shoppers are so rude and do not answer messages anyways

So what is the point of this useless feature, not like we can fight this claim like we can on ebay.. and not like we can have a

[no return] policy either like on ebay.

sorry if it looks like I am ranting but what is this feature for? are we years old and have a "show and tell" event where we can brag about a useless button?
