VTR and Delivery Service Names

Since the VTR requirements came in we've been manually marking everything as dispatched in Seller Central, just to be sure all the info was correct. Now, for various reasons, we really need to go back to automating this process and allowing our systems to mark as dispatched in Amazon. The concern I have is that neither Click and Drop nor our warehouse management system send the delivery service name back to Amazon in terms that match those used by Amazon.

So Click and Drop gives us this:

img

While our warehouse management system gives us this for a DPD service:

img

Or this, for a Royal Mail service:

img

In both cases they've sent the delivery service name back as 'other'. Click and Drop is calling it other 'STD UK Dom_1' rather than any of the names in Amazon's drop down menu. And in this case, the WMS is referring to that DPD service as other 'DPD Next Day - Parcel' rather than 'Parcel Next Day' as Amazon uses. The carrier names and tracking numbers are correct.

Neither bit of software offers the facility to map their internal service names to Amazon's - so we're stuck with this unless we go back and manually edit all of the consignments, which would defeat the purpose of automatically marking as dispatched in the first place.

Will this work for VTR? Do Amazon care if the service names are wrong, if the carrier name and tracking number are correct? Any experiences?

Apologies for the post. I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before, but the new forum is so pants I can't find any relevant threads. Cheers!

I can't comment on DPD as I don't use it.

However I don't think the service name is that Important to Amazon. When I have used EVRI in the past the service names given by Parcel 2 Go didn't match the Amazon drop downs but the tracking was still valid. As long as the tracking number is right I think that is the most important thing.

Click and drop will send everything back.

However 1st and 2nd class large letter although they give delivery tracking sometimes they dont show up for amazon and amazon removes them in the background. 24/48 and 24/48 tracked give all the info to amazon as does the parcel service.

If you are sending anything as a letter you need to use amazon shipping or as we do just upgrade it to ll to avoid the hassle.

In click and drop in the setting there is a button that can be on/off for sending information to amazon ensure its on if you want all the stuff to be automated.

DPD no idea sorry

With Royal Mail Click and Drop STD UK Dom_1 is valid for VTR. Majority of mine are marked as that and I have no problems.

If you are sending anything as a letter you need to use amazon shipping or as we do just upgrade it to ll to avoid the hassle.

In click and drop in the setting there is a button that can be on/off for sending information to amazon ensure its on if you want all the stuff to be automated.
