Regarding an interesting post on ABE's forum

There's an interesting post on ABE's forum on a thread about a sudden lack of Amazon orders, which is true for me too.

The poster has had a message from a potential buyer stating that they cannot complete their purchase through Amazon.

I'd put it down to the start of the Summer holidays and it being an quite time of year, but perhaps there's more going on.

I always expect a bit of a downturn at this time of year and have been quite pleased how orders have been holding up, on Amazon UK & US, & on Abe. Anything on Alibris or AntiqBooks is just a bit of a bonus, & we are still getting direct orders. I hadn't noticed any dramatic drop-off in orders, just a little bit lower than before which I put down to time of year / economic uncertainty. At the moment we've got 2 orders pending on Az.uk, but they've only been there for 15 minutes or so. There are occasional hiatuses, but nothing to cause undue worry. But the whole thing being based on technology, I always fear there'll be some disaster lurking round the corner. Us booksellers are, by and large. a gloomy lot, always happy to look on the dark side of life.
