Constant issue with couriers poor performance

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing large amount of issues with couriers when sending out MFN orders? We have tried Evri and lately Yodel but also have issue with UPS.

These range from:

Items taking far too long to deliver resulting on occasions where we have refunded or replaced items only for them to arrive days later.

The obvious A-Z issues which arrive and are granted by Amazon despite tracking showing delivered.

Parcels being left without actually being handed over and are either denied being received by the customer or in 1 case this weekend a ring doorbell footage showing the item being stolen.

This is getting so bad now that we are planning to simply convert everything we sell to FBA (or could this be a covert plan by Amazon to make this happen ?? )

We pay for basic insurance but I'm finding a large part of my day making claims and it annoys me when buying postage that I should have to pay extra to simply to cover my own back !

Any thoughts?

no courier is going to be perfect. And even if you move to FBA, Amazon couriers are just as inclined to leave parcels on doorsteps or in bins as any other courier.

All you can do is the same as everyone else, choose a delivery service that meets your needs and build your losses into your prices where possible.

I have never experienced the amount of issues you are stating. Yes you get the occasional issue but not the amount you are stating.

You can look at increasing your shipping times to see if this helps combat the number of late deliveries. It might slow orders down though but you may end up refunding less.

Parcels being left in safe places are an issue for all couriers. There isn't much you can do about this but mostly it doesn't result in any claims.

What percentage of your orders actually get refunded. Roughly for me it is 1% of orders that have some form of problem with delivery and get refunded.

FBA is an option but I find that my returns are higher on FBA than FBM. Some items do go missing in transit but Amazon reimburse you for this (but they still take their fees)

same here only thing is that we are at the mercy of the courier service once its dispatched. which the customer don't understand. have lost so much because of couriers.

We moved to Royal Mail in January and have had to issue 2 refunds, approx 30 parcels per day which are collected from our warehouse. Evri and Yodel are a complete joke.
