Amazon video ads- being charged for keywords and searches not at all related to my keyword targeting
Is this happening to anyone else?
new to video ads and using very targeted keywords. It seems all our budget went to searches that are not listed in the campaign and in no way relate to our product.

Ads are...unbelievably hard to manage.
From one day to the next, your keywords will get different spend...sales...and even impressions.
When you put a daily budget...performance is capped on ALL campaigns....severely limiting performance. Rather than saving money with a daily budget, your performance has suffered to the point your profits have greatly lowered...even though you are spending less money. Not logical.
There is no exception with video ads. While video ads are a Sponsored Brands type of ad, which usually means that keywords must be manually placed in, Amazon is experimenting with having Sponsored Brands keyword scrape.
Meaning that if you set up this campaign in the wrong way...you will activate keyword scraping on these campaigns which does not necessarily align with your keyword strategy. Amazon Ads is not necessarily known for being user friendly as they have a history of presenting the Amazon Ads platform in such a way that "tricks" Amazon sellers into higher bids which, in turn, increases revenue for Amazon ads.
