Help ......Do oVAT

Hi

Please can someone advise:

When we receive the payments from Amazon do these include the VAT or has Amazon already taken the VAT payment out?
Thanks

If you are a UK seller selling to customers in the UK then Amazon do no pay VAT on your behalf. You are required to pay that yourself (assuming that you are VAT registered of course).

Talk to your accountant and download the transaction reports. Note specifically that the VAT must be based on your total turnover (sales) not the amount Amazon pay you.

If you sell an item for £100.00 at 15.3% fees
Amazon pay you £84.70
However the VAT is on the total sale = £16.67

How VAT gets paid is then dependent on your VAT scheme - talk to your accountant if you don’t know what this is.
