Welcome to selling globally - how did we sign up for that?

We got a message a week ago about this. It said something about welcome to amazon selling globally, we didnt sign up for this and do not want any part of it.

toiday we received an email in italian that said

Dear seller:

As you know, we constantly develop and improve our functions and services to facilitate sales on our websites.

You will soon have a new export option available (“Worldwide”) in the “Shipping and export settings” section of your “Amazon Logistics Settings” page, with which you can send your products to customers up to 80 countries On February 18, your account will automatically be set to this export option.

The Amazon Logistics program for international export allows you to send your suitable products to postal addresses outside the European Union, which means that you can expand your business to 80 countries without the inconvenience of selling internationally and without incurring a cost or extra effort.

What advantages does Amazon Logistics have for international export?

What is this all about? We do not have amazon logistics, nor do we want any part of global selling. How do we turn this off, we have enough issues with amazon over French VAT as it is.

Hi Germae
If you scroll down and read further it says this…
If you want to control the regions and countries to which your products are exported or if you want to keep the current settings, i.e. for the 26 EU countries, set your shipping restrictions before February 18:
https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/ssof/export/settings/merchant-export-cfg.html/ref=ag_fbasigup_cont_fbasetting?ie=UTF8&mkp=A13V1IB3VIYZZH&CLR=1

PS My link was for France you will need to change (A13V1IB3VIYZZH) to APJ6JRA9NG5V4 for Italy.
This is another automatically opted in unless you change and confirm your settings on each EU marketplace by Feb 18th.

Basically Amazon allows people in other countries to buy from your listings on Amazon.co.uk (or .fr, .de, .it or .es)
There are no additional costs for this and in terms of VAT you’re selling to the uk (or whichever EU country it sells from) so nothing changes there.

This is a really old figure, they’re up to 250, with another 19 being added really soon.

I haven’t seen this. It’s not noted in the thread but I assume this is FBA only?
