Profit Calculation

hy,

For example i want to sell a standard size product being non VAT registered seller and VAT exempt on amazon. Now the product cost to me is 2 pounds and its selling price is 10 pounds, what will be the closest accurate calculation of profit would be ? (how VAT would be calculated for non VAT and VAT exempt seller e.g should i Put all kind of VAT zero like VAT on item price ? )

Hi hard to make money on £10.00 items, unless they are large letters, this calculation does not include the cost of sending it to amazon fba, cheapest option to send to fba, even though you are not vat reg, amazon then charges you vat on fees and postage, myself I don't think you have enough profit because if an item is sent back to fba amazon charge you the cost of return post plus they fees plus vat.. if you want more help please ask

£10.00 selling price

£2.00 item cost

£0.40 you pay supplier vat 20%

£1.53 amazon fee 15.3%

£0.30 amazon will charge you vat on fees because you are not vat reg

£3.68 post very small parcel

£0.74 post vat charged by fba

£8.65 total cost to you

£1.35 you are left with

not including sending into amazon

****************************************************

Larger parcel which I call normal, they don't go by royal mail sizes

£10.00 selling price

£2.00 item cost

£0.40 you pay supplier vat

£1.53 amazon fee 15.3%

£0.30 amazon will charge you vat on fees because you are not vat reg

£5.38 next size up parcel

£1.08 plus vat

£10.69

-£0.69 you are minus 69p

not including sending to amazon,
