Customers can destroy items then return them
I tried filing a Safe T claim for the first time today.
I learned that you can't file Safe T Claims on items fulfilled through FBA. I have also learned a customer can buy a book. Destroy it beyond recognition then return it and receive a full refund.
The worst part is they returned it and it went straight to liquidations. Same thing has happened to two other books all within only a day. How is this ok???? Why do customers get to buy things, destroy them then take money out of Amazon and the Seller's pocket for inventory, time, and labor and there is no recourse.
Is there anyway to stop customers from returning goods they destroy for a full refund.

That's True. You are paying Amazon to handle all of your returns any way Amazon desires so you can sit back with nothing to do and watch the profit come in.
In all the Amazon FBA hype to entice buyers to use the service, it's just not mentioned anywhere in the fine print that Amazon is one of the nation's biggest promotor and acceptor of buyer return fraud.
The benefit of FBM selling it that sellers can file Safe-T claims against buyer return fraud.

not true anymore. most safe-t claims for severely used items will likely get denied.

Same happened to me. Sent 5 pieces of products to the customer. He kept 2, sent back 3 that he brutally vandalized that 3. Amazon gave him a full refund anyway. Filed a Safe-T claim, but Amazon didn't give me a 100% reimbursement, only about 33% or so. I wasn't happy for sure. :-/

Government would have to get involved in the goings on of this company.

Seller fulfilled is a problem also. Customer crushed a vintage doll and returned it. Amazon states that I approved the refund so no dice on getting the damage covered..BUT .. I did not approve anything !
Despite the fact who approved the refund ( Amazon refund is automatic ) the customer must be held accountable for damaged / destroyed merchandize.
As a new seller I am appalled at the way Amazon conducts business and gives generic replies with references to learning videos for every inquiry.

It is unreal what I have had returned. Yes, a customer can literally return ANYTHING. I have NEVER won a safety claim. It is ridiculous what Amazon allows, and even encourages with their 75 return reasons. They have taught customers to legally steal and shoplift using Amazon's own policies. Selling on here is a joke, along with the entire return system, AI bot replies, and their "half" restocking fee. I didn't get half a product back, I got back a totally ruined product. Who came up with these policies? Why ask the crazy poll questions when ya don't care about us sellers in any way shape or form. I only get returns on Amazon. No where else.To the tune os $4000 a year. That adds up quick over the years. It is taught to them on tiktok and youtube how to get ANYTHING you want for free on Amazon, and Amazon knows this. They allow this, it's in their logo! ANYTHING from A to Z??? It is easy to make money on Amazon, it is impossible to keep it. ALL of my time on Amazon is fighting to keep my hard earned profit. Between bogus returns and refunds, fighting AI bots over even having the listings, and literally being harassed by Amazon, THAT is all of my time and effort on here. Takes me 5 minutes to actually ship my products. It is as if they do not want 3rd party sellers any more, even though WE built this business from the ground up. Good luck everyone. We are going to need it as it's getting worse each week, and I have been on here 20+ yrs.

Yep, this has happened to me many times. Amazon could care less about its sellers. Thousands of dollars down the drain because Amazon doesnt want to help us sellers. Buyer return fraud is huge on amazon

Worst than that is to have this situation and, bonus, also get a 1 start review!

Long time seller here and I can tell you that I've seen it all. Worst thing I've seen is customers buying an expensive item and returning a worthless item in the same box of the expensive item and receiving a full refund (while keeping the expensive item). Happened a couple of times. There's little you can do. It's part of doing business. Perhaps it is no wonder that the root word of business is the Old English “bisignes” which means anxiety or busyness. Anxiety and busyness creates stress.

Another returns story:
Customer orders two of our items. Saws one of them in half and returns each half in separate returns. Gets a full refund for two items. Net: One free item
Return reason: Defective item
At least this person had to spend a bit of time on fraud. Welcome to Amazon returns!
