Customer package waiting at post office, opens A-Z to get refund, then picked up package at post office. Is this a common scam?
I lost the A-Z claim ofcourse (seller funded but isn't a negative mark), then a few days later buyer PICK UP PACKAGE AT POST OFFICE. I appealed stating that the package tracking number shows package picked up by individual, but i lose the appeal?
How is that fair? $200 item too so its not like a cheap item. Why did i lose the appeal on this?
What's stopping people from buying an even more expensive item like a laptop and requesting hold. Submitting A-Z, get my refund and then pocket the item? Tracking information shows "PICKED UP" and still a lost?
@Tatiana_Amazonany help?

Yes, this a common scam, and had it not worked in the past, the buyer would not have tried it out on you another time.
OP: ". I appealed stating that the package tracking number shows package picked up by individual, but i lose the appeal?"
Amazon review reps are trained not to just take a seller's word. Did you send the snapshot of the actual USPS tracking showing dates and times. Did you send a snapshot of the filing and refund given to the buyer?
If you did, Escalate to a supervisor. It was stated at the Amazon Accelerate Conference that Amazon will rebill the buyer's account for the refunded money.

Did you ship using Amazon buy-shipping? Was the first scan on time?

yes this is normal for Scammers!
Wait till Holidays, they really clean up with Amazon.
The Best Lie: Didn't receive!!!
I am so sick of that excuse because it makes Me look Dumb and Amazon the Fool.
No matter how you fight this you will LOSE!!!
Everything in your complaint falls on Deaf Ears because this happens all the time.
Good Luck if You should except this Challenge!!!

Yes. It has happened to me several times. Unfortunately, with on line chat groups alive and well, that will be out there and it will become the new INR scam. The problem is if it was seller funded, and picked up, the safe t might not an option. (Although, my last safe t was a refund of $2.00 on an item that both ways shipping cost $12)

Unfotunatelly amazon allows buyers scam sellers for FBM orders. Last week I lost two A-Z Claim and customers got full refund. One of them returned different product (cheap product from another seller) which do not belong us.
Second one; I sent wrong color product to customer. He contact with me and requested replacement. When he received second product (I also added magsafe card holder ($50) gift into packet) he requested return. I sent him prepaid shipping label. He opened A-Z claim after I received the packet. I explained everything in A-Z claim appeal and shared two tracking numbers and requested check buyer-seller messages but amazon do not listen me. Juts refund him and counted ODR to our account. I think Amazon allow buyers to scam sellers. I also sell on ETSY but esty always make fair decisions. Thanks Amazon!!!!

Next time immediately contact the USPS branch and request the package to be returned to sender/ intercept package.

Hello @Seller_iBBg2u3RlFGBY- thanks for the post, and I appreciate some members of the community offering helpful insight already.
I wanted to make sure you had this resource for appealing A-to-Z Claims handy, as it does underline the ability to send relevant attachments through Buyer Seller Messaging so our investigators can review documents during an appeal, along with this page on what else to include in an appeal.
I'd be happy to take a look into this claim situation with you to see if I can assist with an updated appeal. Could you please share the involved Order ID and any related case IDs working on the topic with support?
Thanks in advance,
Danny
