UPC codes are only required for the products you are selling.

Setting up as an amazon seller does not require a UPC code -- ID documents, bank account, credit card are some of things you need to get setup before you start selling.

Yes it is better you get a UPC code offically so that you can properly list your product!

Creating an account does not require a UPC.

It is only necessary when listing products, as it is a mandatory field. However, you can apply for a UPC exemption through category exemption applications.

If you need to list products in multiple categories, you might consider purchasing , which can save you the time spent waiting for category exemption approvals. Manual reviews can be lengthy, requiring you to prepare product photos and other materials, and there is no guarantee of success.
