USPS is using its Automated Package Verification System (APV) as a form of free banking?
Close to the new year, it seems USPS is attempting to boost its revenue through APV-based billing adjustments. They appear to be imposing arbitrary charges to extract a share of profits from us. I recently shipped two orders: one containing an 18" LED tube light and the other containing two 18" LED tube lights. The package dimensions for both were 19"x2"x2", with weights of 8 oz and 12 oz, respectively. However, USPS's APV adjusted the weights to 12.74 lbs and 6.5 lbs, maintaining the same dimensions of 19"x2"x2". As a result, they debited an additional $6.92 and $5.50 from my account.
Unfortunately, we have no way to file claims with USPS since these labels were purchased through the "Buy Shipping" service. Amazon should support its sellers in addressing this loophole, or sellers will face increasingly unsustainable conditions.
Can any moderator assist with my case (ID: 16937256571)? Thank you!
