Profeesional Plan Sellers to Sell Across the EU Unless They Opt Out - PLEASE READ

Hello ALL,

I have just had the following email from Amazon and you need to know what this says...

Amazon will list your products in the stores where you are not yet selling

Dear Selling Partner,

We’ve noticed that you are registered with a professional selling plan, which means that you can sell in up to nine Amazon Europe stores at no additional subscription fees.

To help maximise this benefit, we will list your eligible products across Amazon Europe stores where you are not yet selling.

If you do not want Amazon to list your products, please opt out from the program here before Tuesday, 6 February 2024

1. Learn what will happen if you do not opt out from the program

Your eligible products will be listed in additional stores. Read the sections below to learn how.

Stores: we will list your eligible products in the additional stores where you are not yet selling: United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Belgium.

Listing: European Expansion Accelerator (EEA) tool will be used to list your products in the additional stores. The store that has the most active offers will be used as a source to copy your products to the additional stores*.

Pricing: Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and Pan-European FBA (Pan-EU) offers will be priced with a margin neutral rule called ‘Same as the source store price, adjust for taxes and fee’. This means that prices are adjusted for estimated FBA fee and VAT differences between the source and additional stores**.

Merchant-fulfilment (MFN) offers will be priced with the rule called ‘Same as the source store price, adjusted for taxes’. This means that prices are adjusted for VAT differences between the source and the additional stores**. Source delivery settings and templates will also be copied to the additional stores to account for delivery fee differences.

**All offers will be adjusted for exchange rate if applicable. Your prices will be adjusted periodically to reflect currency conversion fluctuations in the target stores’ currencies. The frequency of these updates might vary from daily to weekly. These updates will not show changes of less than 1%.

FBA export settings: when FBA offers are listed between the EU and UK, your shipping programs and export settings may be updated to enable cross-border fulfilment. In case of expansion from the UK to Netherlands or Sweden, your settings in the UK store may be updated. See European Fulfilment Network between the UK and the EU page to learn more.

2. Why sell across multiple Amazon Stores?

Diversify revenue stream

Selling abroad can give you an advantage of varying holiday seasons and sales peaks across the region.

Maximise your reach

Amazon stores have over hundreds of millions monthly visitors and help you export your products to 28 European countries.

Be among the first

Some stores often have fewer sellers in your product category. Be one of the first sellers in your category in several stores.

If you do not want Amazon to list your products, please opt out from the program here before Tuesday, 6 February 2024

3. Important information when selling internationally

VAT implications

Selling products in additional stores may trigger additional VAT obligations for your business. To learn more, please visit EU VAT on ecommerce (EU VOEC) legislation and European VAT Education pages.

Selling across the EU and UK

FBA: there are 2 options to sell FBA offers cross-border:

European Fulfilment Network (EFN) between UK and EU makes selling cross-border easy, as your offers will be fulfilled via EFN network.

Sending your inventory to fulfilment centres in both, the UK and the EU. See importing and exporting between the UK-EU customs border page to learn more.

MFN: self-fulfilled offers can continue to be fulfilled across the UK-EU border, where you need to ensure that duties and tariffs are paid prior to delivery to the customer.

Product compliance

We exclude products that may require approval from being listed in the additional stores. However, please note that you must ensure that your products comply with local laws and regulations. Review the following policies and reference materials to learn more:

○ Important information for international sellers

○ Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)

○ Importing and exporting inventory

○ Selling Restrictions on Higher Risk Products

○ Categories and products that require approval

If you do not want Amazon to list your products, please opt out from the program here before Tuesday, 6 February 2024

Thank you,

Amazon Services Europe

*If you use the Build International Listings (BIL) tool, EEA will use the source store set in BIL tool to copy your products to the additional stores.

Is the opt-out link in the email only or is there a matching link in you SC account?

If it's email only, that is crazy...assuming the email is genuine.

Is anyone in charge at Amazon, any more?

JB has his head in outer space and no one at management level seems to take a blind bit of notice of the numerous concerns raised on the forums.

*just to add - I can't see anything about it in the news section of SC.

Had this yesterday. Since checking the link, it appears to be genuine, it essentially takes you to a multiple choice option and to provide a reason why you don't want this.

You tick the countries that you do not want them to list you in.

The reason why we didn't was not actually offered, the usual nonsense options with Amazon's lack of foresight.

Simply stated that we sell where we choose it is not a choice for Amazon to make.

The Cowboys of ecommerce are at it again...

Just a quick one on this issue - according to seller support ( albeit take with a massive pinch of salt ) you have to opt out manually as holiday mode will not prevent the sync across.

Seller support cannot opt you out you have to click the link and it takes you to a page which then asks which Market places you want to be excluded from and then to add insult to injury they want to know why . ( as if registering for Vat in all different market places and a returns address in said county also no control over postage wasn't enough! )

I have opted out but as Brian2 kindly says take a screenshot or picture of the page before you click submit incase there are issue down the line where you have inadvertently sold a product to a EU Market place and get suspended for non vat compliance due to no fault of your own.

Just a quick one on this issue - according to seller support ( albeit take with a massive pinch of salt ) you have to opt out manually as holiday mode will not prevent the sync across.

I wish we had an opt out button.

We are in holiday mode for everywhere other than UK, and just cannot stop inventory from being imported.
