No.
You don't need "a company" to register a trademark in the USPTO or for selling on Amazon.
That is OK. Do a deep Google research to make sure that this brand doesn't exist already and rent the .com domain for this brand.
I suggest to try to list the first product straight away with this brand, buying a UPC from GS1. Normally that should work even without beeing enrolled in brand reigstry. You can enroll once your trademark is accepted by the USPTO and alive.
