PLEASE HELP: Every product is gated when trying to add a listing

Hi all,

I have recently subscribed to the professional amazon seller account for £30 a month. However, every product I have tried to add in various categories seems to be “gated” - either by brand or category. I have done some research in this forum which has led me to me believe this is because when I signed up I stated my legal entity as an individual rather than a sole trader. Can anyway advise if this would cause all of the items I’ve tried to sell (various home products, toys, kitchen products etc) to be gated and if so how I can change my legal entity to a sole trader on Amazon?

Many thanks

yes that is possibly why as certain categories can only be sold in by business sellers

first you need to register as a sole trader with HMRC and as soon as you get your Self Employment UTR number, you contact SS and ask them to reopen the legal entity section of your account

A lot of categories/brands are closed for used/refurbished products, as an individual you are not allowed to sell as new which means you might find it hard to find items allowed to be sold on Amazon.

Thanks Little Shop. I have registered with HMRC and have the UTR number, I just need to change the legal entity in my amazon account. I have contacted amazon support like you said, but they said it will take 4 working days to come back to me. Is this right do you know or is there a quicker way to get Amazon to reopen the legal entity section of my account?
Appreciate the help.
