Not accepting applications to sell (supplements)- best practices
I was inactive for a bit & upon trying to reactivate a listing & add new products I quickly found out that I need amazon's approval to sell these types of products now. I then spoke with a customer service rep & was told all I needed to do was upgrade to professional plan (which I did) to request approval but that did not matter cause Amazon is not accepting applications for these products at the moment. I then requested a refund for the professional plan subscription since I can not list/sell my products but it was denied- not sure why.
Anyway now I am curious what the best practices are for staying up to date with any changes related to selling applications or anything I can do to improve my chances of getting approved in the future. Any help?

Hello @Seller_rwwa7qe2yzxux,
Thanks for reaching out. We understand that you have already been approved to sell a specific brand in the past. However, restrictions on selling certain ASINs or brands may be set in place by Amazon or the brand owner from time to time, which applies even to approved sellers or previously approved listings.
As our catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations for which products should be restricted based on a number of factors. Even if you were selling for the same brand or the same product before, you may be subject to new restrictions.
For certain restrictions, we require you to apply through Seller Central for review. If your request is approved, you'll be able to list the product. However, we may not accept applications for every product that we place selling restrictions on.
For best practices, you will want to monitor the help pages for updates, but know that listings can become restricted at any time. If you are going to sell a product that is branded, it's best that you work directly with the brand to purchase their items and get added to their Brand Registry as an authorized reseller of their item. This lets Amazon know that the brand has approved your account to list their products on Amazon.
While you may not be approved to sell the items now, you are welcome to check back in the future to see if you are able to sell the item.
I hope this is helpful!
Michelle
