1st time private seller being requested for invoice

Hi I am a private UK seller just started using FBA to clear up my private book inventory. FBA delivered a book to an UK customer for me and she requested I send her an invoice. I did not register VAT and I am just selling casual in private.

So my questions are:

  1. Does FBA handle this for me?
  2. Any documents will be included in the shipping from FBA? I assume an order summary will be attached in the package?
  3. If I am not VAT registered, can I ask her to just print of from her Order Summary from her buyer account?

I did study the topics here just want to confirm my few qs above.

Thank you so much for all replies.

First of all, the buyer should be able to download an invoice herself, by finding the order details on her buyer account and clicking on the “Invoice” link

However, you are also required by law and Amazon policy to supply an invoice (or receipt for a non-VAT sale) automatically for any business customer within 24 hours of despatch and for any other type of customer on request only. You can create one yourself using Word. It will need to have your full details, your buyer’s name and address, a unique identifying number (eg REC001 for your first one), date of sale, details of purchase (book title, price, quantity (one), total cost). Do not mention VAT at all

There are also invoicing programs on the internet that can do the work for you and, for future sales, you can register with Amazon as exempt from VAT registration and then sign up for their automatic invoicing service

I have to say I do not understand why Amazon insist on sellers doing, or arranging, the creation and supply of invoices/receipts when their own system already creates an invoice that the customer can access for themselves

It doesn’t matter whether you are a private or a business seller, in regard to an invoice.
You have to provide one to the customer if they request it.
None of the points you have asked about is the answer yes.

Go to https://invoice-generator.com/#/8 where it will produce an invoice for you.
Then upload it for the customer.
Do not add vat on as you are not vat registered.
