An additional Store in Mexico suddenly opened today.....
A second store for us was suddenly opened for us for MEXICO today that we did not initiate or want. We have been selling with 1 store in the United States now for 7 years. How do we cancel this store? Thanks!

Apparently Amazon decided you need to start selling in Mexico. The simple answer is, Mexico is part of the North America Unified Account and can't be removed.

This has seemingly happened to many sellers.
The basics:
- As mentioned you can't delete the Marketplace once added. It is part of the NA (North American) Unified Account which includes US, CA, MX & BR in some cases
- Verify there are no listings for MX. If there are then follow what @Seller_LImVvUWeyiCfQ posted - "This post might be of interest to you."
- Set it to "Inactive" -Store Status and Vacation mode
- DON'T be surprised to see a charge some through for MX for 1 month. Amazon splits the $39.99 monthly between the Marketplaces.

Thanks for posting this experience to forums, @Seller_ezPq32u562apl- and I appreciate @Seller_LImVvUWeyiCfQ and @Seller_J46Ruz3VzvWCVfor jumping in with some solid guidance!
In addition to the resources provided by the other sellers here, I'd recommend watching this Seller University video explaining Unified accounts, along with this help page on the topic.
If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Best,
