Locked attributes and hard delete and re-upload
We have a few listings that have been active for a long time and since then Amazon has changed the variation themes so the original ASINS don’t match the new ASINS we try adding to the variation. The size names and colour names are all different and look messy on the listing and I have tried everything I can think of to try and change this including Feed File uploads but the same error message comes up and saying the attribute is locked.
Amazon are suggesting the only option now is to action a hard delete, wait 24 hours and then re-upload the ASINS with the same variation themes. I am so reluctant to do so, we have had so many issues before and I have little faith in the items retaining their stock at FBA, reviews and images etc.
Does anyone have any advice or been through a similar process, I feel like I’m going mad! opened this case with them sooo many times and its like talking to a wall.

When you delete a product from your inventory, you do not remove it from the catalogue, only the link in your account to the product page.
The reviews and images are all stored on the product page.
As long as you upload using the exact same SKU then your stock at FBA will be relink
Whether it will actually fix the initial problem is anyone’s guess…
