new seller
hi, im a new seller on amazon and have been looking into it for around 6 months. I have recently made the plunge after doing research and studying to buy my first few products for amazon.
I have been live for around a week now and have sold one item of stock. With the research i have done i was hoping for a better start (sell more units). I have looked at my listings and cant see any issues. I have products with great seller rankings, my prices are the lowest and i am generating a good amount of traffic to my store (over 1,200).
However i am a FBM seller who has purchased wholesale goods direct from the supplier as i didnt want to commit to FBA and lose a large amount of profit. So at this moment in time i am confused on what the next step would be. Is it best to wait as my store hasnt been online long at all or is there something i am missing.
Any help is much appreciated, thankyou in advance

As a new seller, I don't believe that you qualify for the buy box so until you do, sales will be slow. Not quite sure how long it takes, have a look in Seller Central Help pages.
Be patient and remember that cheapest is not always best.

It can take time to get going, Amazon needs confidence that you will fulfil orders correctly and on time as your preformance reflects back on Amazon, so to some degree its algorithms may throttle your sales initially.
Assuming you're on the £25+VAT/month plan and haven't already consider building delivery into your price and offering free delivery (at least in the customers eyes) and make sure your delivery is quick. If your price (inc delivery) and delivery time matches the best offer Amazon will soon start giving you a share of the buy box time. Even being the cheapest won't guarantee you the buy box all the time, i'm often the only seller of some of the items I offer and they still remove the buy box at times.
Also if the listings you have joined are very fast moving items then that's another reason for Amazon to throttle your sales while you build some orders/feedback. It is also true that some buyers prefer to buy FBA products as their confidence is higher in terms of delivery times and authenticity (rightly or wrongly).
However as FBM you are in total control of your stock so could also offer it via other platforms at the same time increacing your chances of a sale somewhere. Just be careful with stock levels if overlapping on different platforms until/unless you have software to do it for you.
