Account at risk for deactivation due to policy violations from one company

MODERATOR HELP PLEASE!!! I just got hit with several policy violations from one company and my account is at risk to be deactivated. I am not the original creator of any of these listings. When I scanned these items, these were the listings Amazon provided me. Also, I sold on Ebay for 2 decades, and have 5000 sq ft of inventory... I couldn't find the receipts if I tried. Also, I do not have invoices for most of my items as I do not purchase anything from distributors. I purchase from local businesses and local online sellers, and they do not provide invoices. Most items are purchased in huge lots. I also purchase items online but do not have formal invoices. I am given an online receipt which is usually rejected. How can I prove my purchases are legit? And why am I being punished for using existing listings? I don't even want to reinstate any of them. I would just like the infractions off my account so I am not wrongfully suspended. I hope you can help!! Thank you!!

When an invoice is requested- especially when it comes to supply chain and the appropriate authorization and use of specific intellectual property - having a verifiable invoice with all of the correct information on it is highly important. Invoices must include:

  • A clearly displayed issue date within the past 365 days before the receipt of the performance notification.
  • Quantity sufficient to cover your sales volumes for each ASIN cited in the performance notification over the past 365 days.
  • Sales records for each of the ASIN associated with the policy violation. You may choose to highlight the specific product that you are appealing for, if the invoice has multiple different products bought on it.
  • Product identifiers that are easy to understand. These can include product name, model number, or Universal Product Code (UPC) that can be validated online.
  • Contact information of your supplier, including a name, phone number, address, and website. We won’t share this information with our retail team or other Amazon sellers.

Other important considerations for your invoices:

  • Any document you provide must be authentic and unaltered.
  • You can remove pricing information from the invoices, but make sure that all other information is visible and clear.
  • We might reach out to the supplier to verify your documents information and will always keep your suppliers’ information confidential.
  • The invoice must be in PDFs (.pdf) or image files (.jpg, .png, or .gif) format.
  • The invoice must document a completed and fulfilled transaction.

Note on suppliers: Your supplier should have a strong web presence that can be verified through government resources such as business tax registration numbers, where applicable, or other credible third-party sources such as brand websites or business directories.

When you purchased your items in a lot, did you ever receive an itemized receipt with all specifics still required for invoices and other sourcing documentation? How did you verify that these items came from an authentic source?

Depending on the specific type of violation received, there might be more options for you to address this. Please feel free to provide any relevant insight into the specifics of your situation. This will enable the community and I to best support you here.

All the best,

Stevie.

Thank you for getting back to me. Most of my proof of purchase come as paper cash register receipts or online receipts. Amazon continues to deny these as they are not "invoices"...the stores I buy from are more legit than distributors (Walmart, Target, Kroger's, etc.)... I was able to find my online proof of purchase for a couple of the violations, but they continue to deny them. Any suggestions? Thank you!

As you've mentioned purchasing from retailers, these individuals cannot provide invoices rather receipts and order confirmations, of which we can accept in some situations. The concern with receipts from retailers is that the are missing or lack the required information entirely. Any cash receipts cannot be accepted as we cannot verify you were the recipient of the products purchased. If you used a bank or credit card to purchase, you will need to show proof in some situations that you owned the associated card as proof you purchased it. This can be supported with a bank or credit card statement.

As mentioned by @Stevie_Amazon if this was a concern of intellectual properties. Retailers cannot authorize you to use another companies brand on amazon, as we can only accept a letter of authorization from the brand or rights owner. Retailers are typically approved for sale to end consumers, not for resale, thus without the proper documentation the issue may not be eligible to be resolved.

If the proper documentation cannot be provided, and this is impacting your account health you may be eligible for the forgiveness path, but keep in mind that the listing will no longer be eligible to be listed and or sold, inventory in the fulfillment center will only be eligible for disposal. This would however remove the impact of the violation from the account health rating. Should this be the path pursued, I would strongly recommend reviewing our intellectual property policy for sellers previously provided for more information on our policy. I would also recommend reviewing our invoice requirements to verify that all your sourcing documentation meets our requirements to ensure you can address any and all concerns moving forward.

The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
