January 9th National Day of Mourning - Will Amazon Be Marking This as a Holiday/Non-Operational Day?
Will Amazon be updating their Holidays to reflect this coming Thursday January 9th National Day of Mourning.
The post offices will be closed so this should be marked in Amazon as a non-operational day so sellers are not penalized for late shipments.
Thanks!

We have the same question: Will post offices be closed?

Knowing Amazon they will hit everyone's metrics for late shipment.

USPS is closed on January 9th but Amazon wants me to ship my order on that day. Is anyone awake at Amazon,
Seller_vPNR7UK7Tjp3i
I opened a case on this issue and the response was that they adjusted the deliver by date. They did not say anything about the ship by date. All 4 of my orders have a ship by date of the 9th and all 4 are listed as on the verge of late shipment. I printed the shipping labels but of course cannot bring them to the post office since it is closed. If they are scanned tomorrow this will affect my position if the buyer claims a INR since they were scanned a day after the ship by date. It is clear Amazon doesn't care.

Every seller sets their own non-operational days, from the list in shipping settings. If you don't see a day on that list, like this one, then it's an operational day as far as they're concerned. The solution to this was to set your handling time to 2 days before today, or ship the items UPS or Fedex if your margins are high enough to afford SST and AHT settings.

The crooked and out of control Amazon Bots will be licking their cyber-chops looking for 1-day late deliveries.

They sent out this email Tuesday but of course it has no legitimacy as our account showed orders due yesterday and we were marked late when we shipped them today.
USPS is suspending services on
Thursday, January 9, 2025
Dear seller,
In honor of the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, a National Day of Observance has been declared. As part of this observance, USPS will be suspending regular mail deliveries, retail services, and administrative office activity on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Here’s what you need to know:
Mail deliveries and USPS retail services will not be available on January 9.
USPS will continue to accept and process volume dropped by commercial mailers at their processing facilities.
USPS will resume normal operations on Friday, January 10, 2025.
We’re taking action to protect your business:
To ensure that your business is not negatively impacted by the USPS holiday on Thursday January 9th, Amazon will set this day as a holiday for USPS ship methods in Amazon FBM systems. As a result, all promised delivery dates will be automatically adjusted and extended by 1 day.
No additional action is required on your end.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Regards,
Amazon, Fulfilled by Merchant
