8541 Error, Going in circles with Tech "Help"

Looking for help with error 8541.

We are the brand owner, we created the ASIN and it is our UPC. There are no other seller that sells our brand product.

One of our items that has been on since 2018 now has error 8541. It says that it conflicts with some random UPC that is not ours and not a product that is even close to ours. We sell electrical cords and the conflicting UPC is a set of drumsticks. It is telling me I can no longer use my manufacture UPC barcode. I opened a case and after a week and going back and forth with no help I closed it and opened another. Still getting no answers how to fix it.

I can not make any changes to the item with this error in place. I am now being told to delete the SKU and create another but not clear at all the right way to do it. I have multiple SKUs made under this UPC. Whenever I try to delete it says it will delete ALL associated SKUs, including the one I have with FBA inventory

Any moderators that can help??? Please! Current open case is 15485810061.

I have the same issue. Our brand. Our product. UPC code assigned to us by GS1. We already used this specific prefix for 65 productS. Now trying to use 66 and Error 8541 comes up conflicting with some ASIN that we have nothing to do with. That ASIN does not even come up when searching on Amazon.

We were told to deleted the listing and wait 24 hours.

I tried this morning after waiting 5 days. Same error.

I am right now on hold with live chat for the umpteenth time.....

I'll tell you this - don't delete it! You won't be able to rebuild it because of the UPC conflict. That much I know 100% for certain, having stupidly followed that bad Amazon CS advice a few times. Keep fighting it out while your item exists. Good luck.

We have the same issue. However, in our case AMZ re-categorized our product to a category outside our brand registration and that is preventing us from updating the listing. The product was correctly categorized and they just decided it needed to be somewhere else and now we can't manage the listing.

I believe we even got a listing violation as a result of their screw up.

You will have to work through Brand Registry to get this resolved. We went through something similar recently.

I am having the same issue and am the brand owner as well. I have tried support's solution of deleting and re-adding the item to no avail. Tried multiple support tickets/people to no resolution. I'm just getting the same canned answers. This is beyond frustrating.

We see this pretty regularly. The fix is simple in concept, but Amazon Seller Support can complicate matters if they don't read the ticket - or decide it's too hard to do. Be prepared to bounce a bit before you get a person that can correct the issue.

Also - note that if you try to do it any other way it takes a lot longer. This is the fastest method I've found, and the below steps require you to be the GSI certificate owner.

1 - Delete your ASIN listing (just the one with the error)

2 - wait 24 hours.

3 - recreate the listing with *0* quantity in the manner that Amazon's back end wants. It's wrong data - but do it anyhow. A quantity of 0 will ensure you don't sell it accidentally.

4 - THEN upload a feed file with your corrections.

either this will fix it (fingers crossed) or you will need to proceed below:

Take note of the batch upload number from your feed file, and open a ticket with seller support. Include your feed file document, the batch number, the UPC code affected, and a copy of your GS1 certificate showing that you own the UPC. Photos of the item in question are helpful, but make sure they show the UPC attached to the product or product's packaging in a non-removable manner (no stickers).

Hope this helps.
