Child Safety Compliance ABSURDITY
We have been in the most frustrating child-safety vortex for the past 9 months. NINE MONTHS. I became so frustrated the first go around that I ended up deleting all of our listings and relisting under new SKUs/UPCs, hoping we could streamline the process. We've paid thousands of dollars to get all compliance documentation from an Amazon approved vendor and despite sending it everything asked of us, we are continually sent in circles with the same bot responses... "After reviewing your account, I determined your products are subject to Child Safety compliance... here's how you submit", BLA BLA BLA. Same thing every time. IT'S ALL BEEN SUBMITTED OVER A DOZEN TIMES. Has shown "under review" for over a month in your new compliance portal (which didn't exist when we first started). I want to laugh, but mostly I just cry. Truly one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.
I've spoken to THREE seller support agents in the last few weeks who have "escalated" the issue as they see that we've submitted everything asked of us. And still... NO RESOLUTION. The irony is that our product is made out of traceable fabric that has its own compliance certifications. Of all the crap being sold on Amazon, you prevent an authentic seller, selling a non-toxic, sustainable product from even starting. It makes me so mad.
Here's the kicker - in my last message, I threatened to "stop trying and ask for a refund for the last year of Professional Account payments", after answering the same questions that have been asked of me dozens of times (what are the ASINs impacted), AND SOMEONE FROM YOUR FINANCE DEPARTMENT GOT BACK TO ME IMMEDIATELY TO SAY THAT THEY COULDN'T HONOR A REFUND. What?!
Signed, a very, very, very frustrated would-be seller
