USPS Missing Packages And Delays

So I've been experiencing an issue over the past month and a half where some of my packages after getting dropped off take 2-3 days to get to my local sort facility. I tried with two local post offices and have had this happen with both so don't think it's a post office issue exactly. I always scan these, but the annoying thing is if you go to the USPS web site to track it states "USPS expects item for mailing (SSK)" then for example in the left hand side "USPS has received electronic notification from our Self-Service Kiosk (SSK) in ******* on July 11, 2023 to expect your item for mailing." So it makes it seem as if the package was not dropped off that just a label was made there, it should state dropped off or something else, even though in the Amazon order page tracking it does say "Package arrived at a carrier facility". I even have one package over a week now with no updates so going to go talk to them today if I get a chance.

As well, my mail coming in, especially from local areas, is now taking sometimes 7 days to receive, which is insane if it's just a couple of cities over. I get very little letters in a day sometimes then a huge stack comes in at once with delayed deliveries.

When you are dropping off the packages at the post office, are you having them scanned as accepted by an employee, or are you scanning them at the self-serve kiosk? If you are using the kiosk, Amazon won't consider that a valid acceptance scan, so make sure you take them to the counter to get scanned.

For how long it is taking the packages to get to the sorting facility, is it possible that you are dropping them off late enough in the day that they are missing the truck? I know that my local post office has trucks that leave at set times, and if I miss the last one, then they won't go until the next day. So maybe ask someone at your local post office what their schedule is.

I have had this problem many many times. You need to go to the MANAGER of the facility and talk with him/her directly re this issue. ALSO - don't just drop off the packages - have them scanned as being received by the facility. There's more steps - but these will help.
