A-Z Claim for VAT - Accepted and counted against us ????
Cannot believe that even though we refunded an order in full (Obviously not the VAT as we cannot refund that, we simply ask to refund the order in full then the VAT amount is not refunded until later by Amazon) and Amazon A-Z team count that as a claim against us ??? We even appealed seeing as we have done nothing wrong at all. They simply closed it, so I contacted seller support and just received a response saying they stand by their decision. What planet are these people on ????? THe ONLY people at fault are YOU AMAZON for being so slow to refund the VAT or not allowing us to refund it in the first place !!! So how you can seriously count that against us is beyond belief. !!!!!

for example if the item was £12
(which is £10 ex vat)
you issue a refund for the entire amount of £12
and the £12 get split into £10 and £2 vat on the transaction report.
but the refund screens are overly complicated and when you need to do a partial refund it is even less clear.

Did you issue a full refund? Because surely, as amazon hold the funds anyway - why would they refund VAT at a separate point to the customer? That isn't what they do.

I have experienced the same thing with B2B orders with Amazon buy shipping. Amazon dont allow B2B orders to be refunded by the sellers and when sellers open A-Z claims you as a seller gets penalised with ODR. Whoever is signing off business process at Amazon are either not competent to do the job or not testing their own processes properly.

Did the customer file an a-z claim before you issued a refund or did you refund the customer and then the customer filed an a-z claim because the vat wasn't refunded?

This is not very clear to me. Once you refunded fully, not a partial refund, it is out of your hands. You sounded like you issued a partial refund.
Again, I am a little confused.

I really sympathise with you but Amazon's system is just as logical as yours.
Communication is the real problem. You should have been in the position of knowing a full refund was required and that amazon would get round to refunding the vat to you eventually.
At some point the penny drops. You cannot assume your logic applies - Life gets a little easier when you approach new issues like this with caution.

Hello @Seller_job9RwaFcr0lx,
I cannot promise anything, but I want to see what I can do on my side.
Can you share the Seller Support case id?

"Obviously not the VAT as we cannot refund that" - Are you Vat registered in UK? If so, you have to refund everything.
