Button Cell Battery Compliance Question
How do I submit compliance documentation for a remote-control device (containing a coin battery) that is an included component of the product that I have for sale?
Amazon’s policy states that the model number must be displayed on the product detail page for the button cell and coin batteries and consumer products with button cell or coin batteries; however, the model number displayed on my product page is for the product I am selling, not the model number for the remote control which is an included component.

Hello @Seller_qosbWPuCs81ps,
Thank you for posting your concerns with your compliance request.
Regarding the submission of the documentation, you will need to review our button cell battery policy page and ensure that you have all the appropriate documentation to show compliance. This help page also includes a link to submit documents.
The above mentioned policy page also have a dedicated section on how to handle products that contain button cell batteries. As for the model numbers, here's a section from this help page:
Product model number must be displayed on the product detail page for the button cell and coin batteries and consumer products with button cell or coin batteries
Regarding these attributes, you should be able to make specific selections on if the product is a battery or contains the battery, and provide the product model number. These details are reviewed along with the specific documents requested to verify compliance.
Do your documents meet our expectations or have the correct options been selected on the listing? As this was a few days ago, have you provided any testing documents, have they been accepted? Do you have any cases opened regarding this that you can provide so we can better understand your situation?
The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
Emet.

The more practical answer is that you should send the remote control and the device to a lab for testing. They will test the battery compartment of the remote control and if it passes, will then issue you a report. The top of the report will show the model number that you told them. this should be the model number for your product as you sell it on Amazon, i.e. the set of two things, not just the remote controller.
In the end, you will have a passing inspection report which lists the model number you use on Amazon for the set. Then you prepare your GCC (find the instructions online and create this Word document yourself; be sure to include all the required info). Finally, upload images of the product that show the required warning labels. It seems like the more images, the better. I would think that you need the little yellow warning sticker placed directly on the remote control, as well as the orange bordered warning label with required wording on the outer packaging of the set. Just my guess. See below.
Finally, submit all documents in the Manage Compliance dashboard of Amazon. Then wait and wait and wait. If you are lucky, you will get a reasonable person in India that will approve it. If you are unlucky, they will reject it, AND NOT TELL YOU WHY. This is the most frustrating thing of all. This is Amazon policy according to phone support person I spoke to who has worked for Amazon for 20+ years.
So then you will have to GUESS what might be wrong with your documents or images, then resubmit, which puts you back at the end of the line. Wait a week or more again. Hope it passes this time.
This has happened to me with one very important product that keeps getting rejected, but they never tell me why. Virtually identical products in my product line have already passed based on the exact same set of documents.
It's totally unexplainable. Enjoy!
