New seller difficulty

hi all, I’m really trying hard to sell my first product but it seems so difficult to do. I have bought some bar codes and assigned one to the product, but Amazon still won’t let me list this item because an error code comes up code 8572,

It says I need to show them certificate of purchase from gs1 to say the barcode is valid. Ok where do I find this on gs1 also how do I send it to the right place on Amazon?

Perplexed?? Thanks anyone that can help!

Did you buy your barcodes from GS1 ? - as they are the only ones Amazon will accept now, not from other online sources.

You can find your GS1 certificate on the left hand menu in GS1 under 'Subscriptions and Certificates'

Hiya dude, im guessing your selling your own stuff if you need barcodes, if you pick a nice name (which noone else is using) which you may eventually trademark, apply for permission to sell products under that name, then apply for a 'GTIN exemption' and you can list as much as you want under that 'branding' without barcodes or a trademark, if your serious about selling on here though plan ahead and choose something you can eventually trademark so don't use something similar to other existing marks. Some guy told me about the GTIN exemption when i started, got 32000 listings now imagine what i would have spent in barcodes!:) good luck with it mate.
