Final tax liability assessment for unpaid UK VAT (new)
Hi,
Amazon has told me I need to pay VAT since 1 January 2021 until now because I'm resident outside the UK. I've responded saying that I've actually only been resident outside the UK since August 2022 AND I've been paying my VAT regardless AND HMRC have confirmed this is fine, and they say I only need to send evidence that I've paid them and this should go away.
You'd think that would be simple except of course mdri-exec-escalations@amazon.co.uk never reply to my emails. I've even got an open case 9864925522 and that's been totally ignored too.
This is getting ridiculous now as my funds are frozen at Amazon and it's soon to get to a critical situation (empty bank account!). Can someone please handle this? If HMRC is correct, tell me what you'd like me to send and unfreeze my funds.
