WARNING: FBA Fees Are Assessed Based On Inflated Poly Bag DImensions and Not Unit Dimensions

We sell apparel and we've learned the hard way, Fulfillment Fees and Storage Fees from FBA are being assessed based on poly bag dimensions when inflated with air.

We have t-shirts that we measure at 0.2 inches in height which are currently being assessed fees based on an FBA measurement (and multiple remeasurements) of 2 inches. They can be compressed to even less than 0.2 inches in storage.

The result is a nearly doubling of our storage expense in FBA and a 30%-40% overcharge on our fulfillment Fees (as most of these units are then unjustly classified as Large Standard Size.

If any mods hear this cry for help please send this to the higher ups so they are at least aware of the damage this is doing to sellers, Apparel is already a tooth and nail category.

Hi @Seller_0qyRtqm32cQSi,

Dominic from Amazon here, want to provide some context. We do state this in the help page: Product Dimension and Volumes.

Product dimensions and volume are measures of the product’s size when fully packaged and ready to ship in accordance with FBA policies and requirements.

If you are running into higher fees based on measurements in poly bags, I would recommend vacuum sealing the product. We have seen in the past this has reduced the measurements.

Best,

Dominic
