FBA Inventory Loss is now a real issue

We've been selling on Amazon for 5 years and have never experienced inventory loss of entire shipments! Also we've rarely had problems with inaccurate item counts in any of our shipments until now... recently almost every box we send to Amazon is missing items (not just 1 or 2 but 25, 48, 150, 16, 32 units from recent) despite our shipping team doing a 3 step count verification on every shipment.

At a total loss of how to handle their refusal to look at the data/proof and make a fair decision. NOPE they just deny receipt of the goods over and over again then close the case.

Example: We shipped one box containing150 units with a total weight of 22 pounds. Amazon claims they never received any of the units even though UPS tracking shows the delivery date/time as well as the Amazon employee's signature on receipt of shipment.

Here is the canned template they sent me 3 times over the course of about 1 week as we work to resolve this loss of products...

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

Thank you for your patience while we review your shipment FBA17****** . I know that this is important to your business.

When we receive shipments with quantity discrepancies, we automatically initiate a review on your behalf for the items. As part of this review, we perform a second, physical count to reconfirm the quantity of the items received. Items are marked "Investigation Completed–shipment contents counted and confirmed" when we have completed the review.

We have completed an additional check in response to your request. We have no record of receiving the following expected items:

B07******* /-150

For more information, go to "Reconcile your shipment":

Yes I've noticed this. They lost 66 of our high dollar collectible books and refuse to reimburse. Not reasonable. Not fair.

Us too....every shipment starts out received in full, but as days go on and transfers happen, the full load begins to trickle away. UGH...Amazon's system stinks. Getting very close to going back to merchant fulfilled. This is getting to be too much.

I have been selling FBA since 2009. Losing items wasn't really a problem until about 2014-2016, and it wasn't a problem because reimbursements were simple.

They had long periods of counting items perfectly. Then it would be months where every shipment was missing 1 or 2 items. And they wouldn't reimburse. And it got worse. This was 2018-2020.

Sometime in the last year they started getting the counts perfect again, then recently, every shipment is missing 1-2 again. Then we got one a few days ago missing 10 items, one of them being a $200 book. This is the worst its ever been in regards to what I call theft by warehouse.

I scan every item into my software program so I know I am getting every book in the shipment. Amazon still doesn't know how to count the items I ship to them and its been 15 years of this off and on! And instead of them acknowledging they make mistakes, they should look at our track record of being able to send shipments accurately and show us a sign of trust if its so earned.

STOP USING FBA !!!

FBA lost $1500 worth of our inventory in 1 month !!!

Also, an amazon customer order 1 unit and amazon shipped all 21 units that were in stock at the warehouse. the only way we found out was the customer messaged us.

Amazon should change their name to Scamazon.

This has become a major problem. I looked at my manage shipments page the other day and I was disgusted. How in the world are so many items missing from shipments? It was mind-boggling. If this is happening to me then I know it is happening to others. Their system is broken and they are charging money money to use a FBA service that is becoming horrible to deal with it.

I think we all need to just face the reality that this platform is crumbling for its sellers. As service continues to decline and the price becomes high to operate on here, we need to start shifting away from Amazon. People stopped using EBAY for way less than what Amazon has been doing to us.

Switch to FBM!

No placement fees, no low inventory fees, shipping cost is very close to FBA fees, no lost/warehouse damaged inventory!

same here. actually more funny (it is not funny at all). I sent 60 pcs of one ASIN by two boxes. In one box there was 45 of 60, in the other 15. so they said tat they received only 30 pcs. How can it be possible right?

For those saying to stop using FBA, is there a way to maintain the amazon prime tag and still fulfill by merchant. I'd very much like to remove our items from FBA, but I'm worried we'll lose out to our competitors who have the amazon prime 2 day shipping tag. Thanks for any advice anyone has....
