Anyone had this happen?
Sold a book to a business customer 2 weeks ago, so still awaiting payment. Ok not a problem a low cost item. Still had to be shipped within the 2 days which I did, buying postage as usual through Amazon. Yesterday I had an order for the exact same book. Now as a secondhand book seller I only have one copy of most books. The book was the same one as sold to BC 2 weeks earlier. So I contacted SS and was told as the book was for a BC it was still listed in the inventory as available!! Why? No explanation for SS just a robotic reply. So obviously I now have a black mark on metrics for cancelling the order. Total madness

I can't swear it because we have an external stock amalgamator, but I strongly doubt that the Seller Support agent was right.
It sounds like they looked at the first thing about the order that caught their eye and senselessly blamed that. I would keep pushing on this one.

Seller Support seriously stated that if buisness customers order from you then it doesn't mark down your inventory?
if that is the case...what world are amazon programmers living in?

oh - oh. that explains some things. I've had this happen a few times, inexplicably, over the last couple of months. Luckily I've usually been able to source extra stock or actually had more in stock than I had listed.
It really shouldn't happen, though, so I'm wondering if this really is the reason or if there is something else going wrong.
