Locked Out - Authentication Code Going to the Wrong Phone Number

When you hire an employee to help run your Amazon business and they get locked out of the account because they can't get the 2-level authentication code (due to a wrong phone number in Amazon's system that it keeps remembering,) whose credentials do they want to see? The original account owners or the employee's ID? The employees name is not on the account anywhere.

Thank you.

Can someone kindly reply so I can take the appropriate action? The help team just sends me to an article to read that does not answer my questions. I appreciate the help.

Hello @Seller_d4ryBDXLquaaP

Thanks for reaching out to Amazon Forums. If you are required to do some kind of verification, they will ask you for the owner's documents/information. To avoid problems in the future I recommend you to set and edit user permissions, this way other people will be able to access the account with the corresponding permissions.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Regards,

Nano

I apologize for my delay in following up. We pester the Admins to help then I was not here to follow up. Covid brain.

For anyone else who reads this. I discovered what the problem was and we have hopefully resolved it.

When you turn off the two-level authentication requirement, that will ONLY remain turned off as long as the tracking cookie is not removed from that computer. If you clear your cache and cookies, you will lose this and will be required to use the two-level authentication step again. You may have to reverify the account ownership. That is what we had to do in order to regain access.

I hope that is helpful for others.
