List Product as "New" or "Used"
Hi Im using Amazon to sell Parts (chimney pipe) that we have purchased that are slightly damaged or parts that customers decided they did not want after we purchased them. The ones that have minor cosmetic "damage" to them, would I be listing them as "used" or "new"?
I will be listing that they have a slight pea sized dent or a scratch on them and making it KNOWN that they have a slight "defect" in the look but are 100% safe to use. NONE of the products have been used or even hooked up to anything. Will the dents/scratches make them considered used?
I just want to make sure i'm setting everything up correctly. Thanks in advance!

You should probably play it safe and list them as Used-Like New, and note the defects/flaws in the condition notes. Amazon buyers will see "NEW" and expect 100% pristine brand new untouched, un-looked at.
We are a video game seller, someone bought a brand new factory sealed game from us, opened it, but didn't like that the case it came in because they didn't think it was the original case and that we were selling counterfeit games... when in reality it was just a late era Playstation game where they started using different cases 🤣
Anyways, play it safe and do Used - Like New, even if it wasn't legit USED.

I wouldn't sell them on Amazon, this platform really isn't meant for that kind of product. But you can sell "used" (as far as I know).

Read through the Seller Help page, then decide on condition.
HINT - If they're damaged, they're not in New condition. If you purchased them Retail rather than Wholesale, they're also not considered to be in New condition according to Amazon's policy.

In addition to everything said by @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9and @Seller_LImVvUWeyiCfQare these items available for sale as parts from the distributor? If so, do they come packaged in boxes/bags with UPC numbers on the packaging?
If not complete with everything identical to what a buyer would get from the brand, pay attention to what @Seller_7FoK271Hu5h10 said about their 'packaging' issue.
Amazon is not an ideal place for these by any stretch of the imagination. I agree 10000% that these are better off on eBay (and the fees will probably be less as well!)

Used, you risk big issues listing as new, including account deactivation.

I personally think you're setting yourself up for failure.
Best advice is right here:

Even as used and with cosmetic damage clearly listed you'll have problems. Amazon buyers do not read the listings and expect perfection and many are scammers just looking for a chance to complain and get something for free. Amazon will give them their money back, take the money from your account for the lamest, fakiest reason. Go ahead and try one but I'd put it on ebay too.

You may not want to sell them at all on Amazon, eBay is a much better place for these types of parts. Remember, no matter how you decide to list the item, with the first complaint that it was NOT NEW or SELLRE RATED ITEM TOO GOOD, you will take a big hit.

Before entertaining the "used-like new" advice, do yourself a favor and read what Amazon requires for that condition.
Then, if you opt for describing it in a lower grade, remember that Amazon is saturated with buyers who cannot or will not read who are offered a virtually limitless and cost free return process, and you will be setting yourself up for lots of returns and probably many negative feedbacks and A-Z claims. As another poster suggested - this might not be the place for you.
