Amazon messaging customers items may be delayed or lost - request a refund

I really wish Amazon would stop messaging my buyers that their item maybe lost or delayed and to claim a refund, when the issue is that royal mail have just failed to do the final scan. Luckily I have had numerous honest buyers who have informed me Amazon have done this and they have in fact received their item. However I have had a few unscrupulous buyers who take advantage of the system and claim for refunds when in fact I am sure they probably have their item.

In all my years receiving mail through royal mail I find they lose very little, we get way to many refund requests on Amazon for them all to be legit. Never used to happen before they stated this messaging to customers. How can they claim they are just the marketplace when they are busy messaging my customers, surely if the customer didn't recieve an item they would contact me? Never had a customer fail to before. We don't need amazon suggesting to apply for a refund at every turn.

My refund rate on Amazon compared to other sites is crazy!!
