Importing FBA stock from UK

Hi folks

Might be a niche issue but Ive recently dispatched stock from the UK to Canada for FBA inventory. I have just been contacted by the couriers stating the parcels have not cleared customs and that the receiver must assist and clear goods.

Given it is impossible to find contact details for amazon much less get them to assist with literally anything I'm wondering if anyone out there has any idea what this means and what to do other than recall the parcels and give up!

Amazon warehouses do not receive shipments with outstanding duties and customs tax charges. All shipments arriving at Amazon warehouses need to be DDP (Delivery Duty Paid). There is no reason to contact Amazon, there will not be able to help you.

You will have to contact the courier and clear the items before they arrive otherwise your shipment will be rejected. You are supposed to be the Importer of Record

Hello @Seller_k0uBh0emGuu71

Thank you so much for reaching us in Amazon forums, this is Lucre, and I'll be happy to assist.

In fact, as @Seller_7LrAV0m5llaI7mentioned, shipments should be cleared for export so that Amazon can receive and process when these are coming from a country outside the marketplace you're selling in.

I'd like to provide a few help pages that can help you during this process:

Using Fulfillment by Amazon for International Orders

Import and export inventory

To your current shipment, I'd suggest that before trying to get the shipment back, you could try to have your courier take care of customs and pay them for this service, so that Amazon can receive it. And for future shipments, you could try hiring a courier with the service of clearing customs in advance to avoid any delay.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
