You need to go through Seller University with special attention to sourcing. Start with the brand. Request a letter of authorization to sell on Amazon. And find out from the brand who are their authorized distributors.

Amazon should accept the invoices from the supplier that is recommended to you by the brand when you get their approval to sell their products on Amazon.
Any other supplier is a roll of the dice.

retailers provide a receipt not an invoice. Even if the receipt says invoice on it, it is still just a receipt and that doesn’t count.

As mentioned by all of the community so far, verifying that you are authorized to list and sell their products on amazon is important. If possible it is always recommended to receive a letter of authorization or some type of confirmation that an LOA is not required. You will additionally need to ensure that you are using the brands authorized wholesale distributor rather than their brand or retail website. Purchasing from the incorrect source as specifically mentioned by @Seller_6ZGnbdEBEOOUV would result in a receipt rather than an invoice. Invoices should also meet our requirements so if any concerns arise all information to verify authenticity can be confirmed.
