VTR and Large Letters Not Being Scanned. Possible Solution
I thought I’d share something that may help others.
No doubt if you send a lot of Large Letters you’ve been bombarded with the usual threatening emails from Amazon telling you your VTR sucks, etc.
The solution they offer is to buy postage from them, of course. I’m not doing that on principle. Nor do I trust their systems to integrate my RM account beyond the auto-upload of tracking as we do now.
The issue is posties often aren’t scanning Large Letters on delivery. This is because they are not targetted to do so yet.
Now, according to Amazon’s help pages, you won’t be penalised for this.
Do you believe them? I don’t. The left-hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.
I opened a case to confirm this is the case, and after lots of copy and paste rubbish with the usual drones, they refused to categorically confirm there will be no sanctions applied due to posties not scanning Large Letters.
So it seems we need to encourage posties to scan our Large Letters. Here’s what we are using now, these stickers.
Hopefully, that’ll encourage posties to scan more Large Letters and solve the VTR problem.
I got them from Fleabay item number 192745543683. They come from the US but even with shipping aren’t expensive. I’ll note I am not the seller or connected with the seller.
I thought I’d note this here in case it is of help to others.

I do as that’s what I’m still doing - CRL through click and drop and I haven’t had my offers suspended - have you ?

I started doing this on the 7th April, about a month later I posted the info on the forums to help others, during a state of rage some of the few individuals on here, who seem to have some resentment towards me, flagged my posts to get them hidden. Obviously those people did not want others to benefit from such advice.
Somebody else has since mentioned doing it as well, but as others have said, there is no penalty for using CRL 2 barcode.
My cost works out at £2.46 / 500 labels, I buy them in batches of 9,600 but I do have to print them myself which costs pennies and I have a choice of wording.
Yes the benefit is more scans and less people being told by Amazon that they can make a false claim for something that has been delivered.

It’s not that they aren’t, it’s that they CAN’T.
They don’t have the required equipment or systems set up to be able to do so. The only reason they can with signed for is that they can enter the tracking number to search the parcel on the system and manually mark it as delivered when the scanner isn’t able to do it properly.

I use very similar on my labels and scan rate is now over 90%. Previous rate around 72%.
It fluctuates I’ve noticed around poor weather weeks.

It’s not a new idea, it was discussed a great deal back in March and used by many.
I for one won’t be posting my goods with these ridiculous stickers. It looks unprofessional and childish.

Already tried this many months ago with some labels I made myself. Doesn’t work! There was NO improvement to the scan rate whatsoever.
The most effective solution is to file a claim for lost mail for everything that is un-scanned or does not show delivered on the tracking. They might improve the scan rate then, so they don’t have to keep paying compensation unnecessarily. Money talks after all, the only thing that does…

I use 4 x 6 labels courtesy of the RM…free and large enough to be seen but still hovering around 90% but will still keep using them to try and alert the posties.

We were getting low VTR rates with Click and Drop. AZs report showed 60 items that had tracking IDs, but which elsewhere on the report said they had no ID. I spoke with our RM link, who said the issue was that if the receiver wasn’t in, the item was returned to the depot for collection, and not subsequently scanned. Hence the low VTR. Since buying our postage through AZ with our linked RM account, our VTR is on the way up, and just below 95%. It seems AZ will accept it has gone out, if bought through them, and not reduce our metric if it doesn’t have a delivery scan.
