I'm not sure where to look to check if I have 14 day or 7 day payout period. And is there anyway I can request faster payouts?

You can check this page
You will see your next scheduled payout date there.
No, you cannot make any changes. If you have a working "request payment" button, use it. If you don't have that button, you will have to wait for the schedules payout.
